Dr. Edward C Shin is a fellowship-trained and Board Certified orthopaedic surgeon with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions in the shoulder, hip and knee. Dr. Shin is a native of San Francisco and is proud to serve this community with leading edge treatment for sports medicine injuries. His emphasis is on utilizing minimally invasive techniques in the knee (meniscus and ligament injuries), hip (impingement, labral tears), and shoulder (instability) to optimize recovery and outcomes. Dr. Shin has published numerous articles and award winnng presentations in sports medicine research and continues to provide instruction to medical students and residents at UCSF School of Medicine, California Pacific Medical Center and The San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program. In addition to completing residency and fellowhip at UC Davis and UCSF, Dr. Shin was awarded a prestigious traveling fellowship grant for additional training in shoulder/hip arthroscopy with the world’s most renowned orthopaedic surgeons. He serves as team physician to San Francisco City Football Club.
